shine through
vibrant
I was inspired to take these photos after seeing the small holes punched in the leaves by the caterpillars. The way the sun shined through them made it look like a small window. I decided to get this photo facing upwards instead of downwards to get the afternoon light shining. I also like the way the veins on the leaves show through when the sun is pointing at them. I had some difficulty laying down on the ground to get this specific angle.
les fleurs
a small bundle
I was inspired by the small orange pieces inside of the individual flowers. These are actually two separate trees because I wanted to get the correct lighting. I had some trouble getting the angle I wanted. It was also hard to get correct exposure as I was in a shady forest. I ended up getting the shot I wanted with the orange detail showing through on the flowers
climbing wall
minor detail
What caught my eye about this specific tree stump was the small mushrooms growing on the side. Last summer my Dad and I studied different mushrooms up north at our lake house so this was interesting to me. I took the photo from the side to catch the detail of how the mushrooms look like they are popping out of the side very far. I also really likes the contrast of the light mushrooms against the dark tree.
mushroom steps
big world
I really enjoyed this spot in the woods. The way the mushrooms hang off the tree look like little steps leading to the top of the forest. There were more on the bottom of another tree that had grown around a branch on the ground. I really liked the cluster of different mushrooms that looked like a little city.
lush
forest escape
I really enjoyed the specific arrangement of branches in this area. The bright green leaves were super lush in contrast to the dark branches. The bottom photo shows an archway of branches that hung over a path in the woods. I found it somewhat difficult for my camera to capture the depth I was seeing in the landscape. Overall I think I was able to capture it.
